2019 Manifesto

The Telford Conservative Association and our PPC Lucy Allan proudly welcomed our Prime Minister Boris Johnson and our Cabinet to Telford as we launch our Conservative Party Manifesto.✊

Boris on true form arrived in his #GetBrexitDone bus and gave an inspiring speech on how this manifesto will set our vision for the future and unite our great country.

As Boris stated “the industrial revolution began in nearby Coalbrookdale” in acknowledgement of how befitting it was to launch our manifesto of innovation and a new revolution here in Telford.

We’ve had an absolutely brilliant day here in Telford and we’re so pleased that Telford was chosen to launch our aspirational manifesto. We have some fantastic supporters here in Telford as it was absolutely brilliant to hear directly from our PM on how our plan will Get Brexit Done, will focus on your priorities, unleash Britain’s potential and put you at the heart of its plan✊

Key points of the manifesto:

?Extra funding for the NHS, with 50,000 more nurses and 50 million more GP surgery appointments a year.

?20,000 more police and tougher sentencing for criminals.

?An Australian-style points-based system to control immigration.

?Millions more invested every week in science, schools, apprenticeships and infrastructure while controlling debt.

?We will not raise the rate of income tax, VAT or National Insurance.

?A pledge to make the UK carbon neutral by 2050

?A £1 billion boost for "wraparound" childcare after school time and during the holidays

?Maintaining the pensions triple lock, winter fuel payment and the older person's bus pass

?£2 billion for the "biggest ever" pothole repair programme as part of the national infrastructure strategy

?Scrapping NHS hospital car parking charges for staff working night shifts, the disabled and the terminally ill and their families.
