Cllr Nicola Lowery

Nicola is currently Chairman of the Telford Conservative Association and is the councillor for the Ironbridge Gorge. Living locally in the ward, she is passionate about both the Gorge's heritage and its bright future. 


First elected in 2015, Nicola has worked hard to champion Ironbridge Gorge both in the Council chamber and with partner organisations to build strong working relationships.  Nicola is also a Shadow Cabinet Member, The Group Secretary of Telford & Wrekin Conservative Group, a member of the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site Steering Group and on the Board of Trustees at World Heritage UK in her efforts to raise the profile of World Heritage Sites internationally.


Committed to improving the Ironbridge Gorge, Nicola has provided a strong voice for her community and championed a number of projects such as the Ironbridge Power Station and a rail link into the site, the Iron Bridge Conservation Project and supported on a number of public realm projects.  Nicola has also supported many community and environmental projects in her ward, volunteers for local community groups and ensured the voices of residents are heard and represented on issues that matter to the community.


Nicola not only represents the Ironbridge Gorge but provides a strong voice for the Borough on Telford & Wrekin Council’s Planning Committee to ensure our green spaces are protected, concerns of residents are heard, that our planning policies are applied consistently and encourages high quality design.   


Establishing strong working relationships with partners and the neighbouring local authorities has been a key part of Cllr Lowery’s role as a leader in her community and ensures that resident’s views are heard.   In her free time, Nicola likes to travel given her love of architecture and spend time with family and friends.


As the Chairman of the Association, Nicola and the Management Team at the Association believe that the Conservatives are the party of aspiration, opportunity and encourage anyone with an interest in supporting the party during this exciting journey to get in touch.
