The Priorslee Summer Fayre hailed as “best year ever” as families enjoy community event hosted by Conservative Councillors Paul Thomas & Rachael Tyrrell.
Families, residents and local groups came together for a fantastic day of community fun at this year’s Priorslee Summer Fayre.
Cllr Rachael Tyrrell and Cllr Paul Thomas thanked everyone who helped make the event such a success, with attractions, stalls, music and food bringing people of all ages together for what was described as the “best year ever”.
This year’s Fayre featured a busy shopping village with local traders selling gifts, alongside stalls from much-loved charities and community organisations. Visitors were also able to enjoy live music, with bands performing a mix of covers and original material, as well as performances from local musician Alfie James.
There was plenty on offer for families too, including a big dinosaur slide, an assault course and a visit from a T-Rex, which proved especially popular with children. Telford Fire Station also attended with a fire engine, giving youngsters the chance to meet the crew and learn more about their work.
Food and drink were another highlight of the day, with Caribbean food, ice cream, handcrafted drinks, candy floss and popcorn all available, alongside Hickories.
Speaking at the event, Cllr Rachael Tyrrell said the aim had been to bring the community together and create a day that families could enjoy. Cllr Paul Thomas added that one of the most important parts of the Fayre was ensuring that activities for children were free, making it a great value day out for local families.
The councillors said they were delighted by the turnout and grateful to the volunteers, traders, charities, performers and local organisations who helped make the event possible.
Cllr Tyrrell and Cllr Thomas said: “This has been a fantastic community day for Priorslee. It has been wonderful to see so many families enjoying themselves, supporting local traders and charities, and making the most of everything on offer. Thank you to everyone who came along and to all those who helped make the day such a success.”
The Priorslee Summer Fayre once again showed the strength of community spirit locally, bringing residents together for a fun, friendly and memorable family day.
